We are up North now!!!!

Hey there everyone. We are in Canada / Alaska country now, and that means its cold. It has been a while since I have worn a jacket or seen snow on a mountain but I love it. It’s a nice change from the humidity and sunburns the Caribbean has to offer. Two days ago we were in Victoria, Canada. If you have never been to this town I recommend it. Its just north of the US/Canada border and about a hour and a half ferry ride from Vancouver. We arrived at about 3pm which let us enjoy the city at night. This was also the first time and one of the only times we will enjoy night time while on land. We are usually on the ship traveling to the next port at this time. We were able to walk around the downtown area which offers all the great familiar things we are used to plus sightseeing not found at home. Canada is a very nice place and so far clean too. I feel like it is Christmas at all times which is amazing.
Yesterday we were in Vancouver. The city is a big metropolis just like New York or LA. High skyscrapers, lots of cars, and lots of people. There is lots of construction going on due to the 2010 Winter Olympics being held here. The city has a back drop of high mountains covered with snow. I forgot what this looked like and the mountains are gorgeous. We all went around to shop. I bought "Little Rascals," the movie. I have not seen it is years and had to get it. The other thing I was happy to see was a Roots store. If you are not familiar with Roots is a clothing line in Canada. They are the ones who outfit the US Olympic teams. Follow this for a second... Canada Company outfits the US teams, and a US Company outfits the Canada team...hmmmmmm.
We will be spending the next 3 and a half months in Alaska so there will be many things to see. On the list are whales, sea otters, bears, and moose..to mention just a few...oh and I want to go dog sledding really badly.
Today we were supposed to be sailing in the "Inside Passage," but our ship went the wrong way and we are moving around this area...I think. I never thought that was possible but I guess GPS can be wrong....or auto pilot. Hhahahaah. Oh well. We are on our way to Juneau, Alaska tomorrow and should get there on time. Till then I hope all is well and I hope to talk to you soon. See ya.
